dsc_0035Michael Greco has been surrounded by music for as long as he can remember. His father, being a musician, played recordings of the Beatles, Sting, Earth Wind and Fire, Frank Zappa, and Miles Davis in the house on a daily basis. At the age of eight Michael became drawn to the beautiful sound of the guitar and soon began taking formal lessons with a local teacher. Michael practiced diligently everyday and soon gained the ability to play traditional pieces along with some of his favorite rock songs by The Beatles and Metallic.

Michael took his musical education a few steps further in high school. He had been accepted into the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where he would be granted a plethora of opportunities to play and grow as a musician. Michael also learned to play the cello and participated in both the CAPA orchestra and the All Philadelphia Student.  In 2003 and 2004 Michael had competed and won the only guitar position in the PMEA All Pennsylvania Jazz Band.

In 2004 Michael had been accepted into Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of music where he studied under some of the best musicians in the country and earned his bachelors degree in music performance.

Michael is currently earning a masters degree in music education at the University of the Arts and is active in performing, teaching, and recording around the Philadelphia area.
